Skyrager presents Coconut Dreams Volume One by Various Artists

When Danny came in for a haircut last week, he kindly gave me a pre-release copy of Coconut Dreams, and it's been on repeat ever since.

What amazes me most is Danny's ability to uncover these incredible, obscure records from all over the world and bring them together into a compilation that flows so effortlessly. Finding these records is one thing, but tracking down the rights and securing the licences to press and release them is another challenge entirely. Knowing this compilation has taken three years to finalise makes me appreciate it even more.

The standout for me is track 11, Steve Verdugo, Martinique. Danny first played it to me on a rooftop in Bucharest last year from a rough copy through his phone speakers, and even then it sounded incredible. Hearing the mastered version on vinyl is something else. You can finally hear all the subtle textures and little details that make the track so special.

Coconut Dreams is available to pre-order now on Bandcamp ahead of its release on 4 September.
