About

Born from a love of great hair and real culture.
This is the story of Huckle and the people behind it.

Launched with
a clear mission

To bring high-quality hairdressing and barbering to London, while blending it with unique social experiences. But more so, to create a place and a community - away from the mainstream - where people can connect and collaborate through shared cultural passions.

From a great sound system to regularly changing art on the walls and a well-stocked bar, every detail is designed to make time at Huckle as inspiring as it is welcoming.

Built by Chris Ward

Huckle was founded by Chris Ward – a long-time figure in London’s hair and culture scenes with over 25 years of experience in barbering and hairdressing.

His vision was simple: create a space where craft and culture meet, led by people who genuinely care about both. That same vision still guides everything Huckle does today – with Chris very much at the helm.

for culture lovers

Since 2012, Huckle’s independence has helped grow an exciting client base of artists, musicians, authors, journalists, architects and designers.

This ever-evolving creative community has been central to many of the unique events Huckle is known for today.

Beyond the chair

Shake the Foundations is the record and merch store in the basement of our Lamb’s Conduit Street shop, curated by ex-NME editor Graham Sherman.

It’s a space for music, art and community – hosting DJ sets, acoustic sessions, interviews, exhibitions, comedy nights, book launches, and tastings – all featuring friends of Huckle and some of the most interesting voices in culture.
