Men's Stylist - £62

Alex Rugg
Men's Stylist - £62
After a year away, we’re delighted to welcome Alex Rugg back to the Huckle family. With a sharp eye for detail and a background that bridges craftsmanship and style, Alex brings a unique edge to the chair, quite literally.
Originally a carpenter, Alex swapped wood for clippers in search of a more creative, people-focused craft. What followed was a stellar career across some of London’s most respected grooming spots, including Murdock, Pankhurst, Dolce & Gabbana, and five years as Master Barber at Alfred Dunhill.
His journey speaks for itself, but it’s Alex’s ability to understand and elevate a client’s personal style that really sets him apart. From ultra-precise short cuts to longer, more relaxed looks, his work blends classic influence with contemporary technique.
He’s also a genius when it comes to wet shaves and facial hair shaping, with an intuitive feel for balance and detail.
Alex’s creativity goes well beyond the salon.
A lifelong art enthusiast, he began customising trainers during the pandemic, using hand painting and airbrushing techniques to create bold, original pieces.
His designs range from pop culture references and movie-inspired characters to portraits and high-impact colour fades. He also creates murals and large-scale artwork that mix eye-catching visuals with personal storytelling. You can see what he’s been up to at @Runtoon_customs on Instagram.
When he’s not cutting hair or painting shoes, you’ll likely find Alex at a gig, cinema or crate-digging for records. His taste in music runs from classic rock to drum and bass, and he counts Jude Law and Steve McQueen among his style icons.
As for his client list, it’s had a few famous names over the years, but Alex treats everyone in his chair with the same thoughtful care and expert touch.
With over 20 years in the game and a refreshingly grounded attitude, Alex is all about sharp results without the ego.
He’s got the talent, the eye, and the experience to back it all up.
Find him at Lambs Conduit Street, now taking bookings.
Tuesday to Saturday.

Tim Gomm
Men's Stylist - £64

Tim Gomm
Men's Stylist - £64
We’re overjoyed to have Tim Gomm back at Huckle. After moving out of London two years ago, he’s made his return, and we couldn’t be happier. Now working part-time at our Lambs Conduit Street location, his presence has been very much missed.
Tim’s journey into hair started early. Straight out of school in his hometown of Woking, he began learning the ropes at a friend’s family-run salon. It was there he built a strong foundation in both hairdressing and barbering, setting the tone for a career focused on helping people look and feel their best.
After training in both disciplines, Tim made the move to London and never looked back. Four years ago, he decided to specialise in men’s hair, a decision he describes as one of the best choices he’s ever made. Today, he brings a blend of passion, precision and an easygoing energy to every appointment. Whether crafting a clean, modern pompadour or something softer and more laid-back, Tim is all about creativity, care and connection.
“For me, a great haircut isn’t just about looking sharp, it’s about how it makes you feel. In the right space, like Huckle, the experience can lift your mood and reset your mindset. I’ve always seen hairdressing as more than just a job. It’s a mix of creativity, connection and a proper escape from the daily grind. It’s amazing how much of a positive effect it can have.”
What drew him back to Huckle?
“What I’ve always respected about Huckle is that it’s been one step ahead of the game for years, but it’s never shouted about it. There’s no big hype or ego, just a focus on doing things properly and keeping it real. It’s about authenticity, and that’s something I really value. That’s why I came back. There’s nowhere else like it.”
Tim thrives in a space where people, tools and atmosphere work in harmony. Huckle, with its thoughtful setup and culture-first approach, remains the ideal fit.
You’ll find Tim four days a week, Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, at our Lambs Conduit Street location. Always ready with fresh ideas and easy conversation.

Darren Bain
Creative Director - All Genders, Specialist in Women’s - £64
If you’ve spent any time in the world of British hairdressing, chances are you’ve heard the name Darren Bain. With over 25 years of experience in some of London’s most respected salons, and a coveted London Hairdresser of the Year title to his name, Darren brings a rare mix of calm precision and creative flair to the Huckle floor.
His journey started early, in a Bethnal Green salon at the age of 15. Since then, he’s worked across East London and beyond, from international catwalks to the renowned HOB Academy. Along the way, he’s built a reputation as one of the industry’s most respected cutters, working with celebrity clients, international creative teams and mentoring a new generation of stylists. He’s even helped educate some of the Instagram influencers and educators shaping today’s modern hairdressing scene. His teaching style is rooted in patience, polish and a generous dose of panache.
“For me, joining Huckle was about finding something that didn’t exist elsewhere,” says Darren. “I wanted to move away from generic, unisex salons that had all become a bit bland. I’ve always loved cutting men’s hair and short styles on women, but the industry was still very split. Barbershops were all clippers and ‘haircuts by numbers’, and salons were for men with longer hair. Huckle was the first place that really sat in between. It didn’t matter who you were, if you had hair and wanted to look good, you were welcome. And I loved that. Plus, the interiors, the records, the music, the events, the culture. It just felt different.”
At Huckle, Darren now leads on education and creative direction, with a focus on inclusivity and individuality. Whether it’s a bold new look or a quiet evolution, his attention to cut, shape and flow ensures every client leaves feeling like the best version of themselves.
Despite the accolades, Darren keeps it real. He’s a self-described hippy at heart, most at home out in nature with a blues playlist in his ears, cycling long distances or occasionally signing up for an Ironman triathlon just to see if he can.
He works at our Lambs Conduit Street location, Monday to Friday. Be organised though, his diary fills up fast.

Mickey Palmer
Men's Stylist - £62

Mickey Palmer
Men's Stylist - £62
Originally from the small town of Hinckley in Leicestershire, Mikey Palmer brings sharp technical skill, laid-back energy and over 15 years of experience to the chair. A natural creative with deep roots in BMX, art and tattoo culture, Mikey’s work reflects a love of individuality, movement and clean design.
He began his career in Leicester, training through a traditional apprenticeship at Remy Hair Salon where he spent his early years in hairdressing. After a few years perfecting the foundations, he transitioned into barbering and has never looked back. For the last ten years, Mikey’s been fine-tuning his craft, moving to London three and a half years ago and working across respected barbershops in the south-east before joining Huckle.
Whether it’s a clean skin fade or something more relaxed with natural texture, Mikey’s style is all about finding the balance between technical precision and personal expression. Clients trust him for his consistency, easy going vibe and genuine care for the end result.
Outside the shop, Mikey is rarely still. He’s been riding BMX for over 20 years, introduced to it at a young age by his older brother.
What started as a local hobby has grown into a lifestyle that’s taken him to new places and connected him with a tight-knit global community. He also has a long-standing love for art, tattoos and illustration, and often creates his own pieces using a mix of media.
Music-wise, it’s a real mixed bag. Expect anything from Snoop Dogg to Slayer depending on the day. Style-wise, he reps Infamous LDN, a BMX brand co-created with friends where Mikey contributes ideas, artwork and the occasional zine or video project.
Though he still backs Leicester (his local and the only team he’s ever seen live), Mikey’s heart belongs to London now. He loves the ever-changing energy of the city, the creativity around every corner and the fact that he can still get completely lost here.
What brought him to Huckle?
“The reputation. I wanted to work somewhere that would challenge me to push my service and standards to the highest level.”
Mikey works at Lambs Conduit Street from Monday to Saturday, with Tuesdays off. Book early — his chair stays busy.

Dawid Ulanecki
Men's Stylist - £64
Originally from Poland, Dawid Ulanecki began his barbering journey the old-fashioned way, by experimenting on friends. What started as a hobby quickly evolved into a serious skill, and through self-teaching and relentless practice, Dawid has grown into a highly experienced stylist known for his calm confidence and technical precision behind the chair.
He has a particular talent for skin fades, a style that demands control, discipline and close attention to detail. But what really sets Dawid apart is his ability to connect with people. Whether he’s working on a sharp side-part or something softer and more relaxed, his focus is always on understanding the person in front of him. Every cut is tailored to suit the individual, from personality to lifestyle, with the aim of helping each client walk out feeling sharp, fresh and themselves.
Since joining Huckle, Dawid has quietly built up the most five-star reviews we’ve ever seen for a stylist. Clients consistently mention his attention to detail, easy going nature and the quality of his work. He’s the kind of barber you recommend to a friend and know they’ll thank you for it.
After several years of cutting across London’s barbering scene, Dawid now proudly calls the city home. He’s drawn to its energy, diversity and constant movement, and brings those same qualities into his work. He’s especially valued by clients who want a reliable hand, a great haircut and an easy, thoughtful approach to service.
Outside the shop, Dawid is often out exploring London’s many corners, spending time with friends or discovering new spaces and cultures across the city.
He’s always on the move, always curious and always learning — the kind of stylist who sees the craft not just as a job, but as something he genuinely loves.
Humble, dedicated and quietly brilliant, Dawid is all about the details, the atmosphere and the outcome.
You’ll find him at Lambs Conduit Street from Tuesday to Saturday.
